Meditation Times and Explanation

Part of martial arts training is to focus your mind one way to achieve this is through meditation.

Mediation has many benefits such as; a greater ability to focus, relax your body, and rejuvenate, lowering stress levels, and decreasing anxiety
Mediation is also great for self defense because it teaches the mind to be able to go from a tense or high active situation to a calm one.

Please review the chart to see how much time you need to meditate for your belt level. Then join our group and log your mediation once you have completed your meditation you will receive a tip on your belt. The master's will be notified via email upon completion of any logged acts for this group.

White Belt: 5 Minutes
White w/Yellow: 5 minutes
White w/Green: 5 minutes
White w/Blue: 5 minutes
White w/Black: 5 minutes
Yellow Belt: 10 minutes
Yellow Stripe: 15 minutes
Green Belt: 20 minutes
Green Stripe: 25 minutes
Purple Belt: 30 minutes
Purple Stripe: 30 minutes
Blue Belt: 30 minutes
Blue Stripe: 35 minutes
Brown Belt: 40 minutes
Brown Stripe: 45 minutes
Red Belt: 50 minutes
Red Stripe: 55 minutes
Deputy Black: 60 minutes

Great. I have practiced vipassana (insight or mindfulness meditation) for 10+ ish years. I've done lots of retreats 1-16 days. I fantasize about living at Cloud Mountain (down near Vader, WA). Anyway, the hard part for me has always been keeping a consistent practice. I'm making an extra effort right now and usually do better with some kind of structure. The last 2 weeks I've been doing 35-40mins in the morning. I can tell difference the days I do it and the days I don't do it. Victoria says she can tell, too. So that's where I'm starting. I guess my immediate goal is to do it 5-6 days/wk and then to increase the time.

we really recommend simple, mindfulness, type meditation for adults.   and ki (moving mindful breathing/energy/KI) practice.  

As you know, likely better than I, the benefits of the practice of meditation.   anything you would like to add to the conversation would be wonderful.
